Protective autonomy for contested, degraded and multi-vendor operations.

AEROS provides the governed coordination layer that lets equipment from different vendors operate as one accountable system — and keeps human authority intact when conditions degrade.

Core outcomes

What the governance layer delivers.

  • Shared awareness

    In development

A usable common operating picture across distributed, multi-vendor assets.

  • UAS and UGV interoperability

    In development

Coordination across uncrewed aerial and ground systems without requiring fleet replacement.

  • Human-machine teaming

    In development

Crews and uncrewed systems working to one set of rules, with the human in command.

  • Degraded-comms continuity

    Demonstrated

Nodes continue within their approved scope when the command link is contested, intermittent or denied.

  • Counter-UAS coordination

    In development

Coordinated awareness and response across sensor assets, with no single platform holding unilateral authority.

  • Auditability

    Demonstrated

Decisions, holds, escalations and authorizations recorded for accountability review.

  • Sovereign operational control

    In development

Canadian-built governance architecture, operable without dependence on foreign infrastructure.

Doctrine

Passive-First. Escalation-Governed.

The system’s default posture is passive. It observes, validates and coordinates. Escalation is governed: human authorization is required for anything outside predefined authority, and A.V.A. cannot expand its own authority under any condition — including a communications partition.

This is the property that makes a neutral coordination layer acceptable in the first place. An architecture that can quietly widen its own permissions is not one that competing manufacturers, or the governments that buy from them, will agree to operate under.

Offensive autonomous mass compresses decision time. A.V.A. expands defensive decision space.

Scope

What this page covers, and what it does not.

AEROS describes protective coordination and response governance. This is not weapons marketing. Effector details, engagement thresholds and operational parameters are not published here and are handled under NDA with qualified parties.

Status language on this site is deliberate. Where something is demonstrated, it says demonstrated. Where work is active but not fielded, it says in development. Nothing here implies procurement, deployment, endorsement or operational validation by any government or agency.

Technical path

Two levels of engagement.

Non-confidential briefing

A public-level briefing covering the governance model, interoperability position, validation status and where AEROS fits alongside existing programs. No NDA required.
